1. Need visa to travel to Canada / Mexico 2. Need approved I-797 3. Need passport with visa stamp (expired ofcourse) -- old passport mostly. This is additional to your new passport with canada visa. 4. Do not travel to any other country from Canada or Mexico -- VERY IMPORTANT. 5. Do not travel for more than 30 days. 5. List of countries you can travel other than canada/ mexico: Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Barbuda, Bermuda .... etc but dont take that risk-- since we have not heard of anyone traveling to these islands without visa. 6. Only travel via air / water. I read somewhere that road travel is not valid for Visa revalidation. Please confirm this since i also heard someone traveled via road and got AVR. 7. Carry a printout of AVR info from GOV site: this is in case the agent doesnt know about AVR. Happened in our case-- but the next window agent was free and informed our agent. Other than these things it was a very smooth and pleasant experience.
